Sustainability
Made from FSC certified douglas fir that is grown, harvested and felled in the UK. This means that nothing’s imported and no deforestation has occurred in the making of the marquee. A key consideration that ensures that there will always be forests and trees for future generations to enjoy. Douglas fir is strong, abundant and easy to work with.
To protect it from the elements, UV and rot, the frame is coated in Osmo Oil. This oil is made from 100% natural oils including linseed and thistle.
The canvas is made from PVC which while synthetic, is more durable than canvas made from cotton or linen. Cotton and linen canvas loses an element of its water and fire-retardancy every time it’s cleaned. It, therefore, needs to be replaced every year. This canvas is waterproof and fire-resistant and can be cleaned and reused over and over. It only needs replacing every five years if cared for properly.

Construction
Conceived by husband-and-wife team Rob and Mia in 2018. The Tree Marquee is a sustainably built marquee with ecological values at its core.
Made from reclaimed FSC-certified UK Douglas fir using traditional timber-framing techniques; the Tree Marquee is portable and is a truly unique, stunning piece of craftsmanship. With a background in carpentry and farming, Rob’s lifelong love affair with wood, sustainable building techniques and alternative living manifests itself in various forms. From wood-fired hot tubs, chunky outdoor furniture and oak playgrounds, to a restored 17th-century barn. As well as a very modified Land Cruiser and they have also built their own off-grid home.
